AFJROTC - Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps

The objectives of AFJROTC are to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline, and provide instruction in air and space fundamentals.

AVID

AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and other postsecondary opportunities. Teaches skills and behaviors for academic success, provides intensive support, creates a positive peer group, and develops a sense of hope for personal achievement.

APHS Marching Band

The Avon Park High School Marching Band is a competitive team and family. They are comprised of three sections: band, color guard, and drum line. They work for five months to create a routine, compete, and receive scores from judges all around the state.

Choir, it's is not just a place where you and sing for 88 minutes three times a week but a place where you can create bonds with many different people through not just spoken words but through music. It is a place were you can feel free to express yourself and where you have the opportunity to inspire people through music and fun dances.

Stem Club

The STEM club offers APHS students many opportunities to grow in the field of science, technology, engineering, and math. Through field trips and various other activities, members can learn and get a jump start into an exciting career in a highly demanded field.

Robotics

By its nature, the study of robotics not only encompasses all four pillars of STEM education, but also encourages important life skills like teamwork, communication, and project-based organization. Students can earn industry certification as well as scholarships.

FBLA - Future Business Leaders Of America

FBLA's mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.

FFEA - Florida Future Educator Association

Since 1986, the Florida Department of Education has provided assistance to schools in forming and maintaining chapters of Florida Future Educators of America (FFEA), a pre-collegiate and collegiate teacher recruitment program. The program provides a forum for students to become aware of career opportunities in education and nurtures their interest in teaching as a career. It also provides an avenue for collegiate members to stay informed of the latest issues and advancements in the education profession. FFEA is administered through local school chapters at all grade levels - elementary through postsecondary. A teacher or faculty advisor is required to provide the leadership for each chapter.

FFA - Future Farmers Of America

FFA is the largest student-led organization in the world. It prepares students for their future through primary leadership and agricultural education. Members participate in career and leadership competition as well as nationwide conferences and conventions.

Academic scholars united in service & leadership, with positive characteristics that inspire hope, love and support within their local community.

SGA- Student Government Association

SGA benefits Avon Park High School by aiding to student concerns. The president of each class should have feedback on the voice of the students in their grade. SGA uses this feedback and attempts to help in any way possible by speaking to Administrative personnel if the complaint is viral throughout the grades.

Key Club

Key Club International is the high school organization sponsored by Kiwanis International. Key Club assists Kiwanis in carrying out its mission to serve the children of the world. High school student members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing and organizing food drives. They also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district and international levels.

INTERACT

Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young people. It gives young people, such as our high school students, an opportunity to participate in fun and meaningful service projects. Interact clubs perform at least two projects a year, with one servicing the community (local) and the other furthering international understanding. Interact Club is self-supporting and self-governing, thus encouraging the development of leadership skills.

Today, more than 200,000 young adults belong to one of the 6,500 clubs located in 100 different countries, making Interact a truly international phenomenon.
