Title I, Part A “Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged”

Title I is a Federally funded program that provides financial assistance to school districts and schools to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high‐quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments. The purpose of Title I is to provide supplemental funding that may be used to provide additional instructional staff, professional development, extended learning programs, and other strategies for raising student achievement in schools. All 16 schools are Title I, except Highlands Virtual School.

Title I, Part C Migrant “Education of Migratory Children”

The goal of the Migrant Education Program is to ensure that all migratory children reach challenging academic standards and graduate with a high school diploma that prepares them for responsible citizenship, further learning, and productive employment. Funds support high quality education programs for migratory children and help ensure that migratory children who move among the States are not penalized by disparities among States in curriculum, graduation requirements, and challenging state academic standards. Funds also ensure that migratory children not only are provided with appropriate education services that address their unique needs, but also that such children receive full and appropriate opportunities to meet the same challenging state academic standards that all children are expected to meet.
