Mrs. Woodley's Horticulture students at APHS enjoyed a special visit from Sophie, owner of Mindful Bloom Farms. Sophie talked to students about the ins and outs of running a cut flower farm, how she got her start, and provided tips for the school flower farm. She topped everything off with a workshop on eco-printing. Students activated the tannins in fresh cut flowers from Sophie's farm to transfer the dye on to bags that students got to keep. We are so thankful to community members who pour into our students and really help them grow!

In a division of 50 teams, only 10 qualified for the State Competition; from that elite group, APHS earned a score high enough to be one of only four teams to advance directly to the finals. Notably, they were the sole 1A school in Region 3 to reach the final round. While the team felt a touch of disappointment at not taking home the top trophy, their fifth-place finish is a massive achievementโespecially considering that a mere fraction of a point separated the top five teams in the state.
