Good Afternoon Lake Placid Middle School Students and Families, We are excited to see you Monday for our first day of the 2024-2025 school year. Here are a few reminders to make sure we have a successful first day of school. As students arrive at school on the first day, they will need to report to the cafeteria for breakfast and then proceed to the gym to pick up a new copy of their schedules. These schedules are crucial as they will be needed for admission into each class period, ensuring that students are attending the correct classes and are well-prepared for the day. Our campus opens at 8:00 a.m. daily. Students report to the cafeteria for breakfast and then to their assigned grade level area. 6th-grade students will be on the outside patio behind the on the North side of the Gym 7th-grade students will be in the commons 8th-grade students will be in the gym Our student school day begins at 8:30 am and ends at 3:30 pm. Our bell schedules can be found on our website. https://lpm.highlands.k12.fl.us/o/lpm/page/bell-schedules Lunch is served by grade level at LPM. There will be multiple announcements at the beginning of the day and during first-period announcements to make sure students know the time of their lunch period. Lunch times can also be found on the bell schedule mentioned above. Please make sure your child knows how they will be getting home from school. We will help students find their way to the buses, walker gate, and to the parent pick-up line as needed. Parent Drop-off in the morning will take place at the first entrance to LPM off Tangerine Dr (back parking lot). In the morning please enter the gate between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM. For afternoon pick-up of students, please enter the second entrance off Tangerine Drive and loop through the main parking lot. The back gate will open for dismissal at 3:30 PM and vehicles will be able to enter the back parking lot to pick up students. On the first day of school, students will be given a binder with all of their back-to-school papers and helpful information about LPM. Please take a few minutes to review the documents with your child and complete the necessary paperwork to return to school. Please ensure your child attends school in the correct dress code every day. A copy of our dress code is in the student binder your child will receive on the first day of school and can be found on our website. We look forward to seeing all of our students Monday morning to kick off a successful school year.

Football practice is cancelled this evening, Monday 8/5/24 - 6th Grade only orientation. Football will have practice on Tuesday & Wednesday. Thursday is open house for all LPM students - so we will not have football practice.

Chromebook and Charger collection for all 7th and 8th grade students will be on Tuesday, May 21st. We will collect Chromebooks and Chargers from 6th graders on Wed May 22nd. If your student has a broken Chromebook or missing charger they will fined depending on the damage.
