Informational flyer titled “EKGs for ATHLETES” from The School Board of Highlands County, in partnership with HCA Florida Highlands Hospital and Who We Play For. The flyer explains that student athletes in Highlands County (middle and high school) can receive free heart screenings (EKGs) and physicals to detect potential heart issues. It states that sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is the #1 killer of student athletes, and 1 in 300 young people have undiagnosed heart issues. An EKG is described as a simple, painless test that can detect heart problems. Promotional flyer for the Highlands County School District Art Show. Schools participating include Sebring High, Avon Park High, Lake Placid High, Sebring Middle, Lake Placid Middle, Avon Park Middle, Cracker Trail Elementary, and Lake Placid Elementary. The event takes place April 23–25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the South Florida State College Gymnasium, located at 600 West College Drive, Avon Park, FL 33825. An awards reception will be held on Friday, April 25, with elementary awards at 5:30 PM and middle/high school awards at 6:00 PM. Light refreshments will be provided by Everglades Seasonings from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The background features a colorful abstract painting.
